Artist in Residence: Elizabeth Curtis

The last Artist in Residence, Boz Schurr, has moved out of the Art Studio after a terrific six-week run. Next up is photographer Elizabeth Curtis who will be asking museum visitors to become the focus of her art. On weekends from January 23 to March 7, Curtis will take visitors' portraits in Gallery 31's Art Studio and in the Academy's courtyards. Her hope is to have visitors consider the implications of portraiture, its inherent construction, and its effect on identity formation. The Artist in Residence program is sponsored by the Arthur and Mae Orvis Foundation, Inc.
